Read through the first two chapters and blog about what you learned, agree with, disagree with, a quote or idea.

  1. I think that he had some good ideas in those 2 chapters and that he planned well with his belief that he doesnt't want to have his family move into a clapboard cabin just so that they can pay off a loan.

  2. The book is a bit slow, but i enjoy how it isn't just about the business side of things. It also shows his failures and how his relationships changed as he made his way through life. This personal side of things makes the book a bit more interesting and easy to read.

  3. I too though that this book was a bit slow but it pointed out in a nut shell what to do and what not to do highlighting his successes and failures in the beginning.

  4. I thought the book is interesting so far because it shows that even though he is a billionare now he did make mistakes when he was first started but he learned from them.

  5. The book is interesting, though it started off a bit slow in the beginning. It gave some good pointers on how to be successful, and what not do do if you don't want to fail. I also liked how he brought up the personal side of business.

  8. I thought the book was pretty intersesting, although the beginning was kind of boring. I like how with all the financial success he's had he still admits to making mistakes, and talks about his personal life.

  9. I found the book to be interesting. However, as many others said; I found it to be rather slow. It was interesting to see how Wyly describes the failures and how he got through them.

  11. i'm not sure if i would call the book interesting, it starts of slow, and im not a slow person. it is about entrepeneuring so thats probably the reason, the book did have some good pointers and it was cool how he explained his failures and successes

  12. I found this book to start off pretty slow which made it difficult to start reading but once you do it's very interesting to hear about his success and failures.

  13. I am not a big reader so I really don't enjoy books that much. This book was kind of boring for me but some of the good parts were when he talked about how he failed and how he made some mistakes while he was trying to accomplish his goals.

  17. I think its odd that he didn't even think about wanting to be a buisness leader until he was 23

  18. I thought the book was kind of slow to start out with. I thought it was interesting how he talked about his personal life and how he knew what he wanted to do at a young age. Liked to learn about his personal accomplishments and how he started off like a normal kid

  19. Felt like the beginning of the book was pretty slow and boring. I like that even with his success he is still humble and admits to any mistakes that he made in the past. I'm sure keeping a level head helps him business wise.

  20. The opening chapter started a bit slow and deliberate. However it was interesting learning about Mr. Wyly’s background and personal life. It seemed he didn’t know at first he wanted to be an entrepreneur but once he decided, he never lost his focus. Wyly seems very goal-oriented which is essential in entrepreneurship. Even though he had some failures, which he admits, he continued to strive toward his goal. I think Wyly used his failure as a source of motivation. I am interested in seeing out the rest of his story plays out.
